The CPA firm of J.S. Richter, Ltd. occupies a special niche in the accounting profession. The Chicago based firm was founded in 1979 by Austrian born Jack Richter. The firm serves mainly subsidiaries of German, Swiss, Austrian, and other European owned businesses.

The general practice firm provides audits, reviews, compilations, tax consulting, and special management services. The firm is familiar with various European accounting and tax rules including the evolving International Accounting Standards. This expertise facilitates the coordination of audit and tax issues with parent company management and their professional advisors.

We serve clients in various industries such as machine tools, robotics, software, medical instruments, chemicals, plastics, and special purpose machinery. Some of our clients have been with us for many years.

Jack Richter and his son Michael are owners of the firm. Jack has spent all of his career as a public accountant with broad exposure to the complexities of the profession. Michael was an electrical engineer prior to joining the firm in 1998. His prior experience in machine tools and factory automation adds a technical dimension to the practice.

The firm currently employs three additional CPAs and two administrative staff, who also assist in audit and tax procedures.
